Christmas

Hey All! We hope you had a good Christmas this year and that Santa came. He certainly did for our family. We spent Christmas Eve with the Berg's. We got a complete 72 hour kit and an awesome emergency food supply. Between that and the amount of toliet paper at the Knutti's we are set! On Christmas night, we slept at the Knutti's and got up at like 6 the next day to have another Christmas! We had such a good time with all of our nieces and nephews! As you can see Logan got a lot of Spiderman toys, Caden coveted anything Logan had and the twins (Kaitlyn and Cadence) got cute dolls and girlie things. Ty got a McDonald's play set where he can take people's orders and ring them up! He loved pushing the buttons. He would say, "I push a button!" When I put Ty to sleep for a nap, he said, "Bye Shell." This continued for an hour. He is a cute kid. We had a great Christmas spending time with all of our family. (By the way, all of these pictures were taken using my new camera!)
Happy New Year and don't forge to sort the recycling, Tyler and Kara!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Hurray! It is that time of year again where you eat sleep and do absolutely nothing. My favorite time of the year, Christmas. (Except for the fact that it is below freezing outside.) Saturday night we went to a Christmas party where the performer was Michael Ballam and he sang Christmas songs for an hour and a half. It was pretty good. He is a real good singer and very intelligent. We also had an awesome family party with Clayton's mom's side of the family. Every year they get together and have breakfeast together and we had alot of fun. We wish you all a very merry Christmas and a good New Year.

ENCHANTED

If you have not seen the movie, Echanted, you should! Clayton and I saw it last night and we both really liked it. We heard that Clayton's dad, Randy, cried in it, so we were curious to see it. The movie was a happy one that makes you feel good when you leave it. The song playing right now is one from it.

Many of you may have heard of Jeff Dunham. For those of you who haven't follow this link he is hilarious. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQm_8vX3sYU
I recommend you also check out his other one: "Achmed the dead terrorist," the language is a little strong but it is hilarious.

Temple Square

Hey all! Clayton is the best husband in the world. I have now received two Christmas presents that Clayton is letting me have before Christmas. The first was a pretty painting in our living room and the second is my brand new camera! I love it! We went to Temple Sqare with some friends to see the lights and I took many pictures. Here are a few of them. It was a lot of fun.

The twins????

My sister Carlie had twins a year and a half ago, we are still curious as to the ancestors that my brother-in-law steve has because one of them is a little brown girl. The funnier part is that my sister Carrie had a boy also about a year and a half ago and his name is Caden. All together their names are Caden, Cadence, Caitlin. They are all sooo cute and fun to play with but we found a scary resemblance between Caden and Cadence, this goes to show that either my brother-in-law Ryan is the father of all of my neices or nephews, or God was just having fun. Also picture is my miracle for a nephew Logan for those of you who don't know Logan he was born tipping the scale at 1 lb 5 ouces. He is now 6 years old and as mean as they come.
Now in italian In boca al lupo
Ci vediamo.Mandi.

The Bishopric

So, many of you know that I am the Primary Chorister in our ward. We just finished our successful primary program on the 11 of November. After the program, we took off to Las Vegas, but the rest of the primary stayed to have a fun sharing time. They made the bishopric wear these hats. The bishop is in the middle wearing my own personal creation made up of many random, random things that were in my mom's junk drawer! Definitely a different view of the bishopric!

Vacation!

So Clayton and I were actually able to take a vacation this past week! We sat through some stupid sales pitch from Worldmark by Wyhndam and they gave us free accomodations in Las Vegas. The hotel we stayed in was the Imperial Palace, which was not so much of a palace, needless to say, and it will be blown up soon to make way for a nicer hotel.

Here are some highlights of the trip...

Clayton's car (the Avalon, AKA the "alley cat") got to 180,000 miles which is a big deal.

We saw the Bellagio fountains which were amazing. We recorded it for Michelle's dad because he has never seen them. He actually designed and made the pumps that make the water go that high. While he was making them, I'm sure I remember him saying, "This is so stupid, why would anyone want to shoot water up this high?" Well, obviously, they are very cool and the Asians that we watched them with sure enjoyed them.

We found out about this store that sells show tickets for half price so we went over and checked it out. We bought tickets to see Mamma Mia! which is a great show. All of the music in this musical was written by ABBA. They sing that Dancing Queen song as well as Take a Chance. It was a great show and we both loved it.

Vegas is kind of a boring town if you don't drink or gamble. There are a lot of over-priced stores to window shop in and there's the M&M and Coca-Cola shop, but other than that, there isn't much to do. I am amazed at the drunk people there. When they are throwing up and stumbling and slurring their swear words, I think, "Why do people drink? That sure doesn't look fun!" Oh well. I'll probably never understand it.

All in all, Clayton and I had a good trip. It was good to get away for a while and not think about PowerPoints and Runaways!

The Runaways!

So, this year in my first grade class, I have some really sweet kids. I also have some that have a harder time following the rules. This past week was the worst! I have to little girls, who we will call H and L for their own safety. Well, H and L decided about a month ago that they hated their moms and that they wanted to run away. They also decided that the perfect time to do it was at school. At lunch recess, they hid between the double doors and watched the school aide walk by and then made a run for it. Obviously, when they didn't come back to class, I called the office and told them they were missing. We had to do a perimeter search and then we had to call 911. The police came and made me go with them all over the school and search in every classroom and nook and cranny. Well, after putting me through an enormous amount of stress and worry, the girls were found playing in a brickyard by the brickyard employees about 8 blocks away. I was glad they were safe, but when they came back to school the next day, showing no remorse with plans to do it again, I got mad. Needless to say, H and L no longer go to recess or running time and they now enjoy the company of four blank walls as they eat their lunch. Please remind your children that if they are going to run away, there will be someone who misses them and will want them found. (H and L originally thought they were going to go live in a cave in the mountains.) OH and...another teacher at my school has talked about these two girls and said, so the H stands for Hellion and the L stand for Liar, right? RIGHT!

Cute Ty

Ty is our nephew. He is the only nephew on Michelle's side. He is so cute and very spoiled. He came to stay with Michelle's parents while Rachel and Ethan were out of town. He got a lot of presents for his birthday and provided many smiles for all. I got to help him open his presents and get him interested in them. We gave him a Mr. Potato Head, which was definitly not as cool as the laptop and See'n'Say that he got. Anyway, he is so funny with his few words. When his mom finally came to pick him up, he just reached out for her and said, "Happy, Happy!" Clayton has also taught him to say "Peace Out!" Clayton also had the Transformers call Ty and tell him that Ethan was the enemy and that he needed to fight against him. When the phone call was over, Ty said in his happy little voice, "Ba-Bye!" and hung up the phone. Obviously he didn't really care that Ethan was the enemy. We love Ty and all the cute things he does!

ABOUT TIME

For those of you who know our friends Ross and Gina Quigley, they finally got married last Wednesday and we are so happy for them. Despite the cooler temperatures and the rain it made for an awesome day. They have been dating for a long time now and we are happy to see that they took the jump. The wedding was at the Salt Lake Temple and the reception was at the Gallivan Center. After helping them with the reception, Michelle and I are thinking about going into the wedding planning business. It was funny because Michelle and I and other friends helped with the reception and stuff. The next day at work, a lady came up to me and asked, "Do you work at the Gallivan Center?" and I didn't put two and two together and didn't really understand why she would be asking me that, so I said "no, why do you ask" and she said "well I saw you there last night and you were cleaning and checking everything so I just figured you were working." So how funny is that? All and all it was an awesome wedding and I hope Gina and Ross would say the same. We expect payment soon. We're happy for you guys.

Congrats.

UGLY Wallpaper!

So, we are slowly doing some home improvements to our condo. The last two weeks we have taken down our bathroom lights that were original to the condo in 1979. Underneath the light was this wallpaper! Can you imagine waking up to take a shower surrounded by that? WOW, are we glad that people now believe in painting walls.

On another subject, Michelle had Parent-Teacher Conferences this week. She acutally had one parent of a really unruley child tell her that there was nothing she could do to control her child because the child is a Virgo and that is just the way they are. She had a hard time not laughing. She also has advice for any parent going to conferences. Ask questions, be nice, bring the teacher chocolate and show up early.

Pretty Mountains

Hi everyone! Today we took a drive up Big Cottonwood Canyon. These are some pictures we took. It was really pretty up there. The leaves are changing colors and the snow hasn't melted. The combination of the two was cool. Of course, Clayton ended up throwing a snowball at the car.

Ouch!!! Clayton's Accident

J.K this didn't happen to me. Bankers don't get hurt that bad. It has been an interesting couple of weeks for the Berg family. As you can tell we have spent a little bit of time at the hospital with Cale (clayton's brother) in the hospital. This picture was taken in the E.R. only a couple minutes after they drilled a hole into Cales leg to pull his femur down from his pelvic bone. The story is that Cale was trimming a tree and as he was pulling himself up from a limb that he thought was safe, the limb broke and sent Cale falling 20, yes 20 feet down to the gound. He almost landed on one of the crew members. Cale fell on his right leg and his femur jammed itself up to his pelvic bone and practically shattered his pelvic bone into alot of pieces. Luckily his femur bone is fine. He also has 3 compressed fractured vertabre (I have no idea what that means but I'm sure it hurts) and a broken wrist and thumb. He waited a couple of days to have surgery on his pelvic bone. He had the best surgeon in the place. Dr. Kubiac performed a 7 hour surgery on his pelvic bone putting all sorts of pins and plates in his bone to try and put it back together. After all was said and done Cale is doing great and is now in a rehabilitation center and back to his old self. We really do miss the old times though in the hospital when Cale would say weird things like "Am I canning tomatoes, how many more do I need to put in the pan? Do we have a bigger pan? Why does Melody keep telling me to turn up the oven?" He will be doing physical therapy for a couple of months and for those of us who know Cale we know it won't take him as long as everyone thinks it's going to. Please keep Cale in your prayers and thoughts and we know he will make a speedy recovery.
P.S. the strings coming from the bult are connected to a pully that then had a big weight at the end of it to keep his leg in place, it was really gross.

Berg Family Reunion-a wet baby

Today was the Berg Family Reunion. It was great fun. They played some good games and even had a water balloon toss out in the rain. One of the water balloons happened to be on the floor. As Clayton was playing with one of the twins, Cadence, he found the water balloon and gave it to her. They went up to surprise the other twin, Caitlin, and show her the balloon. Well, this is a picture of what happened. Cadence chucked the water balloon at her sister and it popped on her head. Yet another reason that we don't have children. Oh, and Clayton wants everyone to know that he did cheat at the plate passing game. (So did I!)

The Bobcat

Clayton had a very exciting day on Saturday. His sister, Candace and her husband Eli were doing some heavy yard work and they actually let Clayton help them. (He apologizes for ripping up your lawn by "accident.") They rented a Bobcat and they let Clayton drive it a little. Luckily there were other men to help direct him. Anyway, we got most of it taken out. Now we all just have some sore muscles! That's probably good for us though. Clayton had a smile on his face the whole time he was driving as you can kind of see here.

My boring day that will never end.

Every day I leave for school and work. Hurray, lucky me. Then my awesome wife comes and gets me from the most beautiful place in the world, aka Trax Station 7800 S. It is way fun for Michelle to see me walking towards the car because she knows that I now get to go home and study. Yet you will see me with a smile on my face. ENJOY ALL

Ciao
