Ouch!!! Clayton's Accident

J.K this didn't happen to me. Bankers don't get hurt that bad. It has been an interesting couple of weeks for the Berg family. As you can tell we have spent a little bit of time at the hospital with Cale (clayton's brother) in the hospital. This picture was taken in the E.R. only a couple minutes after they drilled a hole into Cales leg to pull his femur down from his pelvic bone. The story is that Cale was trimming a tree and as he was pulling himself up from a limb that he thought was safe, the limb broke and sent Cale falling 20, yes 20 feet down to the gound. He almost landed on one of the crew members. Cale fell on his right leg and his femur jammed itself up to his pelvic bone and practically shattered his pelvic bone into alot of pieces. Luckily his femur bone is fine. He also has 3 compressed fractured vertabre (I have no idea what that means but I'm sure it hurts) and a broken wrist and thumb. He waited a couple of days to have surgery on his pelvic bone. He had the best surgeon in the place. Dr. Kubiac performed a 7 hour surgery on his pelvic bone putting all sorts of pins and plates in his bone to try and put it back together. After all was said and done Cale is doing great and is now in a rehabilitation center and back to his old self. We really do miss the old times though in the hospital when Cale would say weird things like "Am I canning tomatoes, how many more do I need to put in the pan? Do we have a bigger pan? Why does Melody keep telling me to turn up the oven?" He will be doing physical therapy for a couple of months and for those of us who know Cale we know it won't take him as long as everyone thinks it's going to. Please keep Cale in your prayers and thoughts and we know he will make a speedy recovery.
P.S. the strings coming from the bult are connected to a pully that then had a big weight at the end of it to keep his leg in place, it was really gross.

I am glad Cale is doing okay. Rough times! We will keep your whole family in our prayers.
