Preschool

We had preschool orientation last week. To put it short, it was a disaster. Tanner fell and scraped both his knees before he went in and cried the whole time! He is such a softie when he gets hurt! (As a side note, his best friend goes to preschool with him. Paxton woke up and told his dad he was all ready to go, but he needed a bandaid first...just in case Tanner got hurt, so he would stop crying! What a good friend!!)
So, if you know me well, you know what I did the whole week waiting for school to start...I worried. We read The Kissing Hand, Llama Llama Misses Mama, and talked about what it would be like. I even promised a trip to Chic-fil-A if there were no tears.
Much to my surprise, Tanner had his backpack on and was out the door at 9! We didn't even have to be there until 9:30. He was SO excited. I walked him to the stairs and watched him go. He didn't even say goodbye to his teary mommy. He just walked right in, hung up his backpack and went to work.

Good thing I worried so much, right?

Tanner is 3!!!

I can't believe that my little Tanner-man is 3! For his birthday, we decided that we would ride the tram at Snowbird. It was a lot of fun. We rode it up and hiked to the ski lift and rode that down. It was so fun!

We went to chic-fil-a for lunch and the awesome owner let Tanner have a hat and make his own ice cream!
We have successfully indoctrinated our child to have a golf course cake for his third birthday!
Tanner shares his birthday with his Great-Grandma Seaman who was sweet and sent a card to her "birthday buddy!"
The day would not be complete without a visit to Grandma Knutti! Grandma got him a Woody and Buzz who he has not let go of since!
We love Tanner more than we could ever say. We are so grateful he is part of our family. He has such a sweet spirit that was meant just for our family. I have never seen another 3 year old with so much compassion. He begs to see Grandma Knutti, to sit by her, to color with her and to give her hugs and kisses. He sat at the hospital with her waiting for a surgery to start for 2 and a half hours and was so well behaved, the nurses brought him stickers.  I cannot imagine a better kid for us.
As a side note, please pray for my mom! She is going through a particularly hard time in her life and needs all the blessings and peace she can get.

Lake Mary

This is one of the hikes I remember doing with my family. We used to make our dad pack a raft up and then we would paddle around. I wish that I were strong enough to pack it up.
Tanner was such an awesome hiker and did the whole thing without being carried at all! It helps to have brave older cousins who are so much fun to be with!

It's Been A While...

Here are some random pictures of the random things we've been up to...

We made our "best" tiger face.

We played at Grandma Berg's with our CUTE cousins!
I actually thought I had a bug eatng my spinach...Clayton found the bug. His name is Tanner.
The horse parade in Fairview. One pooped right in front of us, and now we get to have the great conversation about horses and all animals pooping.
Tanner (and Daddy) caught a fish! It was Tanner's first fish.
We have been having a great summer!

St. George

The last week in February, I just decided that we needed to get out of town. So the awesome husband that I have found a place and we were off. We climbed in the red rock, visited the dinosaur museum, and just plain relaxed. The good news is, mommy came back with a much better attitude!

We seriously think we have the cutest kid, EVER!

Tanner took awesome naps! We were so proud, but the real reason is because we played too much.

Nap Time

So for the first time in about 2 months, I decided to take a nap while Tanner took a nap. I couldn't go to sleep so I started watching "Parenthood" on a volume level of 1. I didn't hear a sound. I looked at the clock at 3 and thought, man, this is a long nap. So I decided to check on Tanner.
Here is what I found:

Not in the bed...
Not in the tent...
I am now frantically calling his name until I hear, "Mom, I'm downstairs!"

He decided to get his travel mattress out of the bag and try to blow it up.

I guess I can no longer take naps. He's too quiet and sneaky!

Jungle Jim's

We got to go to Jungle Jim's! Tanner and I went a while ago and he talked about it all the time. We rarely say the words "Jungle Jim's" because we know the next few hours will be filled with questions about where Jungle Jim's is, when are we going there, which way do we turn to get there and many more. So when we mentioned those two magic words on Saturday, we had to go. It is the perfect place for a two year old to get tired enough to take a nap. He LOVES it!

Don't you love Clayton's leg in the way on the bumper cars? Tanner was so mad that he had to ride with an adult.

As a side note, my mom saw her physical therapist for the last time on Thursday. Her strength continues to improve and she is now walking around the house without the walker. She is still using the feeding tube, but has enjoyed some yogurt, soup and pudding. We are so glad to have her around. It is her 66th birthday this Friday, so if you know my mom, send her some birthday wishes this week!
