Jungle Jim's

We got to go to Jungle Jim's! Tanner and I went a while ago and he talked about it all the time. We rarely say the words "Jungle Jim's" because we know the next few hours will be filled with questions about where Jungle Jim's is, when are we going there, which way do we turn to get there and many more. So when we mentioned those two magic words on Saturday, we had to go. It is the perfect place for a two year old to get tired enough to take a nap. He LOVES it!

Don't you love Clayton's leg in the way on the bumper cars? Tanner was so mad that he had to ride with an adult.

As a side note, my mom saw her physical therapist for the last time on Thursday. Her strength continues to improve and she is now walking around the house without the walker. She is still using the feeding tube, but has enjoyed some yogurt, soup and pudding. We are so glad to have her around. It is her 66th birthday this Friday, so if you know my mom, send her some birthday wishes this week!

Christmas 2011

Better late than never, right?

Let me explain why we are so late...

Christmas this year was a little difficult for me (Michelle). A couple of days before Christmas, my mother was admitted to the Cardiac ICU. She was having shortness of breath, and it was discovered she had a heart attack. She was not doing well for a couple of days. They needed to do an angiogram, but could not do it until her kidneys improved. After a few days, they did the angiogram, and discovered that they could not do any stenting, and that she needed a triple bypass sugery. My mom has multiple health issues and it was a consensus that she would not survive a triple bypass. A high risk cardiologist decided that he would be able to fix one artery with a stent. We waited until her kidneys were again ready for an operation, and went ahead and fixed one artery to make her symptoms easier. She recovered well from that and we were able to get her home from the hospital on New Years Eve. Throughout all of this, she started to asperate her food (meaning it was going into her lungs) and she was put on a feeding tube. She went home on the feeding tube and continues to get better and better. She will hopefully get off the feeding tube sometime soon.

Our Christmas was a little emotional. We had a great time at our house, Santa found Tanner and was very nice to him this year. Santa brought Tanner many gifts, but the best was a racetrack.

Then, we went to the Berg household which is always fun. Tanner loved seeing his cousins and getting his presents.

Then we rushed over to the hospital where the nice nurses of the CICU let 4 children under the age of 6 in to see a patient. It was difficult to keep them all contained, but wonderful to be together.

The first week of January, we finally celebrated Christmas with the Knutti family. It was a great feeling to have mom at home. As you can see, Tanner spent most of the Knutti Christmas as close to Grandma as he could get!

He just keeps getting bigger and bigger! Tanner loves taking the decorations off the trees and placing them in lumps together. Christmas is sofun especially now that Tanner understands what's going on. Merry Christmas to all of you and we hope to see all of our friends this season!

We got to go to the Utah Food Allergy Network's Trunk or Treat this year! It is meant for children with allergies. They get to keep everything they get because it isn't food!

Fall at the Cabin

We were fortunate enough to get some friends to come with us to the cabin this past weekend. We are not sure if they'll come back, but it was fun to have them with us! The Larsen's are a fun bunch! Thanks for coming and putting up with us! We took some great rides (eating a lot of dust), played games (I was not so good at that!), and ate some great food.

We are not all the way there, but we are getting close! I can't believe it happened this early. He totally did it all himself. All I offered was stickers and praise. What an amazing kid I have!

I One Two

Tanner turned two yesterday! We can't believe it! We have been asking him how old he is and he says, "I one....two!" We had a great morning at the zoo. Did you know that Tanner shares his birthday with Zuri the elephant at Hogle Zoo? They are both two!

Later, we had cake and ice cream with all his favorite cousins. (They all came!) We are so lucky to have such a great family.

Tanner had a choo choo cake this year with cupcakes for the tracks.

Some things we love about Tanner at two:

He is a patient, loving little guy.

He won't take a toy from anyone.

He talks about his cousins and friends all the time.

He loves to go to to church and asks to go several times a week.

He really likes his neighborhood guy friends and squeals when he sees them.

He will not look at the camera for anything.

When I was sick, he kissed me on the cheek and said, "okay mom."

He eats well, but is constantly asking for "cooookies." (He even bakes them in his play kitchen.)

He loves to read scriptures with us before bed. (We bought the ones with pictures...)

We love our little guy and can't believe we are so blessed to have him. We are so grateful that he was sent to our family. Happy Birthday Tanner!

Old MacDonald

I have been hearing far too many requests to sing, "ee oo." (which translated means Old MacDonald, ee ii ee ii oo) So we headed off to Farm Country at Thanksgiving Point to experience the real thing. Luckily, Rachel and her guys got to come with us! (Tanner asks to play with Ty many times a day!)

So, Clayton's parents found a "poem" that Clayton wrote in 9th grade. Pretty sure I was crying by the end of it. Imagine a question mark on every line that starts with "My friend."

Terrific Tanner

I have been so in awe of Tanner this week. He has taken his eye patch so well. He lets me put it on without a fight and only fights a little to take it off (it hurts!).

We have been calling his patch a sticker and I've given him his own stickers to play with and here is the result...

They keep him pretty entertained!
Here are some other tidbits that have just shown how wonderful he is...

When I was so worried this eye problem would hold him back in things and make others look at him differently, he walked right up to another girl in the doctor's waiting room, gave her a hug, grabbed her hand, and took her to the toys.

He stopped in the middle of the road to yell hi to a lady 30 feet away.

If I give him a spoon or shovel, he is immediately stirring and saying "mmm, tasty" just like Grandma K taught him.

He sings the hymns in church now!

When he throws a tantrum, I tell him to go to time out, he obeys, the crying/screaming stops instantly, we hug and the whole thing is over.

We are so grateful for our little Tanner. He is such a good boy. We love him so much!

Last Thursday Michelle noticed that Tanner's left eye wouldn't look to the left. I thought she was seeing things, (motherly intuition). We left for Cedar City for the family reunion early morning Friday and I still didn't see anything. Friday afternoon it was obvious that Tanner had some type of issue going on with his eyes. We got an appointment with our awesome pediatrician Jeff Erickson for Monday at 9:00 A.M. He scheduled an appt with us for a pediatric opthamologist for Tuesday at 9:00 A.M. We met with Dr. Hoffman at Primary Childrens Center to see what was going on with Tanner. He told us it was most likely post viral palsy of the 6th nerve due to his recent pneumonia that he had in March. Dr. Hoffman wanted to rule out a growth so he scheduled a MRI for us at 12:30 that same day. Needless to say poor Tanner was sedated for the MRI and everything went really well.(the picture is of Tanner waiting to be sedated and only wanting to play with the pulse finder...) NO GROWTH. So now the poor little man has to wear a patch on his good eye until this viral palsy goes away. It could take as long as 6 months. Lessons learned: motherly intuition works, our pediatrician is amazing, (as well as every person who helped us at Primary Children's) High Deductible insurance is a CURSE & Tanner is a strong kid to go through all of this. So when you see us next, yes we do know that Tanner is not looking right at you, he's just looking at the 2nd you to your left.

I realized that the last time Tanner was in a pool was last summer. I haven't attempted swimming since then! So this week, we went swimming with Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Rachel and cousins, Ty, Shawn and Eli! It was a blast! (Please pardon the white legs)

The Big Yard Day

This month we have made a lot of progress on our yard. We have many "before" pictures and we are still working on getting the yard to the "after" pictures. Hopefully soon we will have it where we want it.

On this big yard day, we rented this machine (called a Dingo) and ripped out a corner of the yard, as well as hauled in a lot of bark and gravel. Thank you, thank you to all the family that helped us out. Especially Cale for cutting down a tree and a half and getting as a lot of firewood. (Less leaves for me to rake!) We'll keep working and get the "after" pictures taken and then invite our hard workers over for food.

On a side note, Tanner has pnuemonia now! He has been a very sad boy. We have him on antibiotics now so hopefully he will get better soon!

We went to the cabin for Presidents Day this year.

Tanner loved the snowmobiles. He wouldn't look at us in the pictures because he was too busy driving them.

I think we all had a good time. Tanner loved tubing. He would wimper at the top of the hill and by the time we got to the bottom, he'd be giggling. Soon he just started yelling, "GO GO GO" at the top.

On another note, my sister had her baby last night! (8 days early!) It is her third boy, so she is in for an adventure. She is such a good mom and I'm so happy for her! Name to come soon I'm told.

Clayton's a Big Shot

During all of his gallbladder/pnuemonia troubles, Clayton managed to interview for a new job. His main goal was to interview with a certain someone who knew him as a somewhat slacker/teller. This way he could show said person, he was no longer a slacker. We were so surprised that Clayton got the job! He is now the Branch Manager at the Union Heights branch. (seconds away from where we used to live!) Here is a picture of his new office.

Pretty nice, right? So if you are in that area, stop by and give him a hard time!

have the HIGH DEDUCTIBLE insurance plan again...

In January, Clayton started having stomach pain. He went to the doctor and following blood tests and an ultrasound, it was decided his gallbladder was the culprit. He has since changed his diet to a lot less fat and it has felt better. (He has also lost 10 pounds!) Soon after that he got sick. Little did we know it was the flu. He had one horrible night and then went to insta-care. Following a chest x-ray, it was decided he had pneumonia. On Wednesday night, Tanner was walking backwards and tripped over his toy lawnmower and scraped his face on the side of our brick mantel. We once again went to insta-care where they initially told us we may need to go to Primary's to have a plastic surgeon stitch him up. As we waited the bleeding finally slowed and we went back in to the doctor. She came in all ready to do the stitches and I said, "Does he need stitches?" and the doctor said, "It is up to you. It isn't that deep." So we said no and went home. (Side note- who is that doctor to come in and get ready to do stitches when my 18 month old doesn't need them?)

So... if this is any reflection of how the year is going to go for the health of my family, we will never choose the high deductible plan again.

By the way... our deductible is 10,000 dollars!

On the 25th I was having horrible pain in my stomach come to find out it was issues with my Gallbladder, it hurt to pick up Tanner and to run after him so Michelle took on Tanner for 4 days straight without a break. Then I was seeminly fine for 2 days until I got the FLU. At which point I couldn't be near Tanner because I didn't want to get him sick, so Michelle continued to be the only person near Tanner the whole time. Then of course the FLU turned into pneumonia, since this FLU and pneumonia was pretty bad my parents were nice enough to let me stay at their place. Yet again no break for Michelle. She is the greatest and I am so lucky to have her. I love you Michelle and thanks for being so good to Tanner and me.

Poor Tanner

Tanner had his appointment with the allergy doctor today. He was unexpectedly happy for most of it. Thanks to Grandma K for the small toys to play with during the testing, it helped a lot. We did a prick test on his back for peanuts, tree nuts and egg whites.

The results are that he is allergic to peanuts and tree nuts, but not eggs. We are looking at the eggs as a huge blessing, because let's face it, that would stink!
Then we did a blood test to see the levels of histamine in his body after the tests. I almost cried, because, hey who wants to see their kid in pain?
Here he is after the test, he was pretty mad, but the teddy bear with matching owie made him feel a lot better.

Now we wait for the doctor to call us about that and we start reading labels more carefully. I have a list of things to stay away from. I wish that every box and can in the grocery store had a sticker on it that said, this is okay for Tanner to eat. Oh well, I guess I will learn.
I've been struggling a little with the fact that I can't control everything and that at some point Tanner will probably accept something to eat that he shouldn't and will have to go through something terrible. I want to protect him always, but he needs to not have this hovering mother around him all the time. All I can say is that I'm working on it. If you have advice, let me know. Sorry you have to go through this Tanner, but things could be a lot worse, and we know you can handle it!

Peanuts

Oh how I wish this post was about the Peanuts Characters. It isn't. It is about good old fashioned peanuts and especially peanut butter.

Today I gave Tanner a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch. I didn't think much of it, since he had already tasted peanut butter cookies and other peanut items. Unfortunately, his face got pretty blotchy after about 2 bites and I was on the phone with the pediatrician. On our way there his eyes got really red and his face continued to get more red and swollen.
After a good heaping dose of Benadryl and a steriod shot, he was pretty sad. Within an hour he was back to normal and I now carry Benadryl in my purse as well as an epi pen. Good Bye Peanut Butter!

They have at least 4 photo albums all printed by Shutterfly. I looked at using Shutterfly for my holiday cards and had already planned on using them when I heard about this great offer. Color Help

We can't decide what color to paint this bathroom. We are not big fans of the aqua color it currently is sporting. (We also have a basement bedroom this color!)
Michelle is looking at darker colors because white is boring and the color of the countertops and tile might look silly with some lighter colors. (The tile will eventually be replaced, but only after a basement bathroom is done...)

Since we haven't updated for a while here are some cute pictures of Tanner!!!Tanner was a dinosaur for Halloween and loved picking up Grandma & Grandpa Berg's box of candy and dumping it on himself. Clayton dumped it on him and he just screamed "yeeeeeaaaaaahhhh." Tanner's cousin Owen was a lion.

Driving is one of Tanner's favorite past time. Let's just hope he doesn't have a lead foot like his daddy.

But his favorite past time is below and needs no explanation.

Tanner's Grandparents

Michelle and I went to my parent's church today for a missionary farewell. The picture below shows how my whole childhood was. My dad taking my toys and not sharing and my mom trying hard to entertain me with another toy. Each time Tanner tried to grab a crayon from Grandpa, Grandpa looked at him and would say, "MINE." Tanner got so angry we had to leave the sacrament meeting. Notice Grandpa's smirk and Tanner's glare. In the end, Grandpa's picture turned out great. Way to go Grandpa, we are proud of you. Thanks for being so nice Grandma!

Italy...

The groundbreaking ceremony for the Rome Italy temple will be taking place on October 23rd. The person presiding over the ceremony will be non other than President Thomas S. Monson. The area where the temple is being built is going to include a stake center, visitor center and patron center. At the ground breaking they will unveil building plans for the temple. Looks like they have all of their ducks in a row for this one. I seriously wasn't expecting it to happen so quickly. I better start saving up for my trip to Italy to visit the Temple soon. Go Italians.
We are so happy and excited for the saints in Italy. What a great blessing for them!

Clayton had the vacation of a lifetime this year. He won a raffle for tickets to the US Open in Pebble Beach. He and his dad walked miles upon miles following golf's greatest players. (Michelle wasn't invited to the tournament due to her desire to heckle a certain player with comments like, "You owe me money!" and "I changed my voicemail like you said I should!") They did not allow cameras so unfortunately there are no pictures of this once in a lifetime day. However, I'm told we will go back just so Clayton can play that course. The rest of our vacation days were filled with the beach, the aquarium, San Fransisco and a visit with an amazing aunt! Here are some pictures of the beach and San Fransisco. Can you believe that we have been married for four years? Sometimes it seems that it has flown by, but when I really stop and think about it, it really feels like four years! Look at how skinny we were! Look at how much hair Clayton had! I'm trying really hard not to be cheesy, but I really love this guy. He is the greatest! So glad I married him!

New home

Well we did it. We have a home under contract. It is in West Jordan near Glenmoore golf course (a must for Clayton) and we will hopefully love it. We will close the end of June and get to work on some of the small things that need fixing. If anyone knows how to break a furnace from 1979 we welcome the hints. One day we might have a little party to piss of the neighbors. We will have better pictures when we actually move in.

Head, Pants, Now.

The title of this post is one of my favorite lines from the movie, "So I married an axe murderer." The reason I love it so much is because (wait for it) I have a large head. But, I am no longer alone in my quest for a huge head. Tanner is now 9 months and here are the stats:

Weight :23%

Length: 75%

Head: 99%

That's right a couple more years and I get to use all the same jokes I've heard for the past 25 years on my own son.

Does that thing have it's own solar system?

Seriously could he be cuter? Probably not.

Tanner has shown to be quite the sensitive boy. The Knutti Easter Bunny gave him a Zhu Zhu pet and it has proved to be the most terrifying thing for our sweet boy. (Video coming soon.)

We decided to enjoy the weather and have a family outing to Wheeler Farm. (It's FREE!)

7 months!

I can't believe he is 7 months old! It has gone by so fast. He is such a fun little person to have around. He is such a good kid. He is very patient with his mommy. His silly mommy felt in his mouth on Sunday (she hadn't done this for quite a while...) and there was a tooth! He hadn't complained a bit. I didn't even know it was happening. He wasn't even drooling. Let's hope the rest of the teeth go that way. We are so happy to have this little guy and love him to pieces!

Our condo sold! We close in the middle of March as long as this person's funding goes through! We are very excited to start a new adventure in a new place. For the time being, we will be living with the Berg's in Taylorsville. We are so thankful that they are welcoming us into their home. Thanks for making space for us! We promise to find place to live quickly!
I just wanted to take a minute to send my feelings about our condo out into the world.
After a somewhat traumatic experience at our first apartment, we were SO grateful to have this condo. It was a safe place for us. However, we had planned to do some work on it before we moved in and we wanted to move in quickly. I will never forget all the people who made that happen for us. I can remember almost every member of our family helping to put in wood floor. I can remember my sister, Rachel putting sheets on our bed so we would have a place to sleep that night. I remember Ethan putting in molding. I can remember Cale, Eli, Ryan and Randy working on that wood floor. (Along with Judy supervising and more!) I can remember sweet Melody cleaning out cupboards without even being asked. I can remember Candace dancing in the silly mirror in front of the kitchen table. If I haven't mentioned your name and you helped, I'm sorry but this is a really long post. Thank you to my parents for so many things I can't name. Thanks to Tyler and Justin for helping put in tile. Thank you to everyone for helping us make this condo our home. I've saved a piece of the wood floor so I will never forget what loving family and friends I have. I will miss this place!

Short Story:

We went to Jason's Deli and had to leave because Tanner was screaming...

Long Story:

We went to Jason's Deli, got our food and sat down. Dad took two bites of food and mom was making her salad, when Tanner was starting to fuss. Mom took him out of the car seat. All of the sudden, Tanner started SCREAMING. Dad tried to walk around and calm him down. He seemed to calm down and then would scream again. Guess what was setting him off each time...

As soon as we got our boxed up food and went outside, he was fine!

So if you own purple leggings, don't come to our house!

We had a great Thanksgiving this year! Tanner had to sit with Dad while we ate, so I think Clayton didn't eat as much as he wanted to. (It was probably good for him...) Tanner did have a rough moment during dinner when Grandpa Berg sat across from him and dropped a hot dish of yams his way. It scared him pretty bad. Tanner also tried to take a really good nap on Grandma Berg's bed, but two of his cousins decided that he needed to be tickled instead. He looked pretty nervous when I found him, but I think he likes his cousins.

How wonderful is my son? We blessed Tanner yesterday and he was an angel. The men in the circle said that the during the blessing Tanner just stared at his daddy. No crying! He was held and loved by many yesterday and just stayed asleep most of the time!

It was a great blessing, Clayton did a great job! We are so lucky to have Tanner in our family.

We now have another car to drive. Its miles and the miles on our other car combined are still less that what the Avalon had when we sold it!

More Late Night Conversations

Anyone see what time I made this post? (This is Michelle.) Yeah, thats right 3 in the AM. I couldn't go back to sleep until I sent this little story out into cyberspace.
Tanner has had an ear infection. We feel pretty bad for him. However, he is such a good baby that we didn't know he was sick. On Thursday morning, I woke up at 5 overjoyed, because we had put Tanner to bed at 10 and he was still asleep! Then minutes later, I had a screaming baby throwing up bile. He was sick enough to be sleeping through his hunger.
So, we have been setting our alarms to wake up and check on him to see if he needs food because the medicine we have him on makes him extra sleepy and I can't handle watching him throw up bile again.
Here's what happened tonight:

12:00 AM
Michelle's alarm goes off...
Michelle: Clayton, do you think he needs food?
Clayton gets out of bed and walks over to Tanner.
Clayton: When was the last time we fed him?
Michelle: 8
Clayton: He's a cheerleader.
Michelle: Go to bed.

3:00 AM
Michelle's alarm goes off... She shoves Clayton
Michelle: I think I'll change his diaper and see if he acts hungry.
Clayton: I'll go start a bottle for him.
Michelle: Thanks
Clayton comes back in the room and helps me change him.
Michelle gives Tanner to Clayton and he starts to feed him.
Michelle: Do you know what you did at 12?
Clayton: No
Michelle tells him...
Clayton: Man, I'm sorry. Did we charge him down?
Michelle: WHAT?
Clayton: Wait, did we write him off?
Michelle: Are you freaking kidding me?
Clayton: No, in the bank when we have a loan, we say we charge it down to the collateral value and write it off.
Michelle: cuss words and shoving
Clayton: laughing oh man

Michelle is still awake making sure that Tanner is actually fed and taken care of.

Ha! Just barely, he admitted that "his mind may not have been fully awake."

Early Start

No need to call DCFS daddy is just trying to get his son used to his future career. I figure the younger he starts, the sooner he gets his first hole in one. Tanner also told me his short term goal is to not only beat Grandpa at golf but to beat daddy as well.

Cousin Jill & Devin were kind enough to further his golf career by letting him chill in their golf carts for a couple of minutes. He really is driving the cart, trust me.

River Oaks golf course at 10 days old. Tanner already has 2 years experience on Tiger Woods. Dad really thinks he enjoyed it.

Late Night Conversations

Anyway, we obviously aren't getting much sleep and I have to share this story of a late night talk with Clayton. At the time, I was so mad, but in the morning it was really funny.

12:00 AM
Tanner is crying...
I get out of bed to get him...
Clayton sits up in bed and speaks in his snotty attitude voice...
Clayton: What are you doing?
Michelle: Getting a bottle.
Clayton: WHY?
Michelle: because Tanner is crying.
Clayton: WHY?
Michelle: because he is hungry.
Clayton: WHY?
I go over to him and look at his open eyes. I put my hands on his shoulders and say...
Michelle: OUR SON IS HUNGRY AND WE NEED TO FEED HIM.
Clayton: WHY?
Michelle: JUST LAY DOWN!
Clayton then lays down and goes back to sleep.

Later in the night Clayton insisted that he had already done the 6:00 feeding when it was just barely turning 6:00.
Hopefully we'll be more awake and attentive as we get used to our new sleeping patterns!

Tanner Clayton Berg came into this world 9.8 Lbs and 21 inches long on August 10, 2009 at 1:45 P.M. after an hour and a half of pushing by mommy, he came. We're so happy to have him and are completely amazed by his hair. We don't know where it came from as daddy is bald. Mom is doing well and is an awesome person for going through with this.

Neighbor Update and More

So last night we came home around 9 and Kenny was sitting on the stairs of the place across the way with the POLICE! So, we left all the lights off in the house and spied for a while. Smoker walked around in the house a lot and came in and out onto the patio. Kenny stayed on the steps until the cops left. When the cops left we saw Kenny go in and sit on the floor in Kath and Smoker's house. He sat in the middle of the floor almost in the fetal position. Smoker kept wandering and Kath sat in a chair across from Kenny.
So here is what I have concluded... Kath and Smoker found out about his two timing ways and said they'd had enough. There was a little bit of a domestic dispute, the police came to straighten it out and Kenny was forced to see the error of his ways and cry on the floor for forgivness.
I'll keep you updated!

Oh yeah, my Doctor is inducing me on Sunday night, hopefully to have the baby by Monday at noon! Yeah!

Rear Window

So yes, we are still waiting for this little guy to make his appearance. I no longer have a job so I have been spending my days at home cleaning, and oddly, watching the neighbors. I decided the other day that I have turned into Jimmy Stewart in the movie Rear Window. (I love old movies!)

There's a guy in the condo's, we'll call him Kenny. He has been "seeing" a neighbor across the way, we'll call her Kath. Well, Kenny and Kath have been seen together for quite a while at the pool and around. They look cozy. Well, Kath got a new roommate, we'll call her Smoker. Well, in my time off I've been driving by and looking out the window and have seen Kenny and Smoker at the pool being cozy! Then on another day in the week, I saw Kenny and Kath at the pool! Something is going on there. Who needs soap operas on TV?
So now you know even a little more about how weird I am, as well as how much I need this baby to come so that I'll stop being so nosy!

Staying In Bed

So we've had a pretty exciting week. On Wednesday I called my doctor with a question and was told to immediately go to Labor and Delivery. I left school and got there at 11. If you see the blue line in the picture below, that is me having contractions about every 2 minutes for about 3 hours.

They gave me some shots that slowed them down and sent me home. At home they continued about every half hour. So now I am on some pills that make them come every hour and I get to stay in bed for a little while. I'm not on bedrest, just rest. I get to go to the doctor on Tuesday to find out if I have to be on bedrest and what in the world this baby is trying to do.
I keep telling him to stay in for a little while longer, so hopefully he knows to listen to his Mommy already!

OH MY HECK - IT'S MULE DAY!!!

Clayton and I took a trip to Star, Idaho to visit Uncle Steve and Aunt Pat. Star, Idaho had it's biggest event of the year... Mule Day.

They had a parade. Of the 15 or so entries in the parade 2 random farmers just drove their tractors through the parade. The highlight of the parade was the Star High School marching band. Not only was it the highlight of the parade it was the highlight of these high school kids lives, something they had worked all year for.

And as in Uncle Steve's words "this was the biggest thing that would happen to this kid in his whole life."

After we celebrated Mule Day, Clayton realized he was at his ultimate vacation home.

Aunt Pat and Uncle Steve have 10 acres that are all beautifully manacured and 2 ponds with fish. As you can see from above Clayton played golf for a while because of the green he was able to hit to.

This is the fish pond that anyone can catch a good 23 inch 3 lb trout from.

This "little" casita is what we had to stay in for the 2 nights. Yeah life is rough.

After about 5 months of not going to school I finally was able to graduate!!! Hurray for me. Basically I felt that way 5 months ago but was excited to see all my old buddies from school. I spent more time with them in the fall semester than I did with Michelle.

Also some people might say we are getting a little ahead of ourselves with the preperations we have done for our little boy coming August. For example a couple of weeks ago we assembled this...

Today Babies R Us was having a cool sale on their strollers so we went and bought a stroller/traveler combo set, we think it's pretty sweet. Here's what it looks like.

For this weekend only we also received another free stroller.

In all reality this is what we did memorial day weekend. We took a quick trip to Italy! This is us at Cinque Terre.

Michelle is doing great and I will work on getting a belly shot for an update! She is determined not to get one at all, but we will see.

So I know that I am lame. For some reason, certain things have become more funny lately. Here is one that I got a great kick out of. I wrote on toilet paper with a permanent marker and then stuck the toilet paper in the toilet. Then Clayton used that toilet. I thought it was really funny. Here is a picture!

It is supposed to be like BOO!

Anyway, we found out on Monday that we are having a BOY! We are very excited about it. When they did all the measuring to see if my due date was right, everything matched the original date of August 10 by size, except for the boy's head! The size of the head said the due date was 6 days earlier! Have any of you seen Clayton's head? I'm not really excited for that to come out! Hopefully he'll grow into his head!

New nephew
Finn Berg was born last week and I don't have any pictures but my sister Candance and Eli have some on there blog. He's a cute little boy and all is well with Cale and Melody as well.

Have you seen this movie in your house? Michelle and I were looking for it to watch and we've lost it. We hope we lent it to someone and they still have it because we don't know where else it could be. If you find it can we have it back?

Booooo Jason Mesnick

I have a confession to make. Bachelor is one one of my favorite T.V. shows. After this week of 5 hrs. of the bachelor I am very frustrated and angry with the "bachelor" Jason Mesnick. He is a complete idiot according to Shell and I, if you didn't watch the show Monday night, you missed everything. Jason proposed to Melissa

It seemed like the match made in heaven. I had been hoping for this since the beginning of the show. Later on in the show we had the "After the final rose" part where the moron(Jason) broke up with Melissa and chose Molly (Who won't be shown becaues i'm so angry with her for taking him back.) Seriously what an Idiot!

This picture was taken while I was in Pordenone by the military base. Take a close look at the picure. Notice anything weird? Yup, I have hair. Our friends there decided to see what I would look like with hair. Michelle says it freaks her out, personally it does freak me out a little as well.

Also we are getting ready to make the second bedroom more baby friendly. We sold the "beloved" Futon today. We got $70 for it though, hurray for us.
I had a fun day on Presidents day, I broke the Lundbergs door handle to their garage, and the handle to turn off the water under our kitchen sick, and was able to repair (with Justins help) the motor on my car window. Hurray for us.

Cabin Trip

Below you will see pictures of where myself, Ross Quigley and Justin Banks spent most of our day on Monday! Thank you MLK for a wonderful day off. If you look closely at the 3rd picture you might see the hole that Ross dug himself in while snowmobiling. We spent about 5 or 6 Hrs snowmobiling and woke up the next morning thinking we were 75 years old. It was sooooo much fun though. My parents were kind enough to trust us with the snowmobiles and the 4-wheelers which we turned back to them in great shape. (I hope) We learned a couple of things, It's really fun to be thrown off the snowmobile and even funner when it's powder that you're landing in. We will be going down again, or so Ross and Justin tell me and when we do we will take an actual camera with us.

Yes it is a dish full of suckers, my OCD coworker did that while she was bored at work. Now you must meet my Assistant Manager, he is a goofy fellow and we enjoy him. His nickname is Erica becaue his name is Eric and well I love to joke with him.
This is a picture of him at a service project we did at the Gateway and that helicopter is the same one that crashed in Big Cottonwood Canyon years ago, I remember it because my uncle was one of the guys on the Heli when it crashed.

I'm nervous for my new job but happy that I will be able to finally make more money than MICHELLE. HA HA HA. although she works 9 months a year and I'll work 12.

Many of you probably already know this, but Clayton GRADUATED this week! (From College...) I am very proud of him. He did it in three years. Probably because I am a slave driver.
ALSO, he was offered and accepted a great job with Zions Bank. He will be in their Officer Development Program. They will train him in just about every department and allow him to work in each department for 18 months and then will have a job in one of those departments.
He is such a smart guy and I am extremely proud of how hard he works and how much he tries. We all know how great he his, but I'm sure he'd like to hear it, so post a comment!

What Teachers Do After School

THEY EVACUATE THE BUILDING!

Today, after school at like 4:05, I was walking back to my classroom when the fire alarm went off! I looked at my friend Aleesha and thought, "Really? They wouldn't be having a drill with no students..." Once we had both realized what was going on, we ran back to our rooms, grabbed our purses and ran.
Among my many hats at work, one of them is group fire drill leader. I completely failed this time. I just ran out of the builing instead of grabbing my walkie talkie, my snazzy yellow vest and completing my sweep of several rooms. WHOOPS! Good thing there weren't any students there.

Anyway, after being stranded outside for 45 minutes and many, many jokes about what it could have been, we were let back in to finish our work because it was a FAlSE alarm.
We have a lot of fun taking pictures of the firemen and checking to see if they were married...We were only looking for our friend Bailey though because she wanted some mouth to mouth if they were single.

No luck though...
